Days 263 - 270

I can't believe it is so long since I last posted on here. Time really has flown. I guess a lot has been lost in the whirl of Christmas parties, Christmas shopping and failing to replace our Best Maid.

A few things have been accomplished. We are a bit closer on the music, a lot closer on the dress and might even get somewhere on the flowers before 2006 is out.

Days 258 - 262

We've just had a bit of a disaster.

Somehow, we have managed to lose our Best Maid.

Actually, it is not our fault at all. Nor, I stress, is it hers. Her brother is getting married on the same day, which is a pretty extreme way to get out of making a speech at ours. We'll miss her and now we have the difficult task of deciding how we replace her.

In other news, Goth Girl has at last been measured for her dress, so that is one more thing off the 'to do' list. We just need to sort out my suit, the church flowers, and all of the music.

It is funny to think that, in 49 days time, this will all be over and we'll be married.

Days 250 - 257

It has been a mad few days. We had a small party for a few people who were going to be at the wedding, most of whom didn't know one another. We managed to drag along the Parisian couple we were staying with when we got engaged. Very sweetly, this was sort of their reunion after three months apart and they were all over one another, much to the Best Maid's disgust. Another couple drove all the way from South Wales for just a few hours of drinking. Our thanks go to all these people and especially the Best Maid, whose idea it was and who organised it all.

We've also had Goth Girl's birthday, which passed in a haze of cocktails, wine and good food.

And Goth Girl even found a dressmaker.

There are still plenty of things to be done, but we are now starting to send invitations out, so it feels as if it is all really happening.
